Finding the best clothes dryer to buy this year may not be as important as you think. But, recognizing the reason your buying a new clothes dryer is!
Unfortunately, most homeowners learn an essential laundry room safety and energy lesson too late.
That's because no one gets an owners manual when you buy a new home. And if you did most us would not read it.
Thus a fire hazard exists in all of our homes. It's caused by a restriction of airflow in your clothes dryer's venting ductwork.
During ordinary use of lint, hair, and even pet fur gets past the clothes dryer lint trap. A lint trap allows, on average, 25% of the clothing fibers, hair, and fur to pass through it.
That's how The Lint King Inc. can help. We provide dryer vent cleaning and repair in Northern Illinois.

Learn More About Dryer Vent Cleaning and Repair
I remember when I purchased my second home and learned how and why homeowners, especially first-timers make this expensive mistake.
I'd just moved in and had, of course, a load of laundry to get done. The washer and dryer were, in my opinion back then, old! So, when it took two, sometimes three hours to dry a load of clothes, I assumed it was the appliances.
The tipping point was when my clothes started to have brown streaks on them. I thought again the appliances are old and I should replace them. I proceeded to ABT my one and only appliance store to purchase my new Maytag front load washer and dryer set. I was all set... or so I thought.
The day had come for the delivery of my new appliances, and a chance to catch up on my laundry. To my amazement, nothing had changed! What could possibly be wrong I asked myself, not knowing at all about the four-inch ductwork behind the wall and ceiling. As with most of us at this point, we assume the appliance is defective and request a serviceman to check it out.
The serviceman came out the next day, and that's when I discovered the root cause of my laundry problems. A clogged clothes dryer vent. Yes, 23 years ago we found a six-foot-long bird's nest with lint and hair all the way back to the clothes dryer. No wonder it did not work!
That was my first experience with this aspect of being a homeowner. It was in 2003 that I spent time as an appliance repairman servicing only clothes dryers. Nearly all repairs were due to overheating caused by a clogged dryer vent pipe. It's hard to tend to something we cannot see.
So I saw educating everyone on laundry room safety and energy efficiency as my mission. Please contact me, Paul Meyers with any question regarding your clothes dryer's vent and ductwork.
